Panel to Discuss Student Preparation for the Games Industry
The Entertainment Arts and Engineering Program (EAE) at the University of Utah is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 2023 Horizons IndieCade Festival. As a leading program in game development education, EAE is thrilled to support this celebration of independent game creators and their innovative work.
IndieCade, an international festival dedicated to independent games and interactive media, has been a platform for emerging game developers since its inception in 2005. The Horizons showcase, launched in 2019, highlights games that explore new frontiers in the medium, from experimental gameplay to creative use of technology.
As part of the Horizons program, EAE Associate Professor Roger Altizer, an expert in games for health and game education, will moderate a panel at the festival on Preparing for a Career in the Industry. The panel, which can be accessed online, will run on February 17, 2023 from 12:45PM Mountain Time.
As a sponsor, EAE will provide financial support for the festival and participate in the events and exhibitions. Students and faculty members from the program will attend to showcase their latest game projects, share knowledge and insights, and network with the wider game development community.
“We are delighted to partner with IndieCade as a sponsor and bring our students and faculty to the festival,” said Michael Young, director of EAE. “IndieCade is a unique and important event for the game development community, and we are excited to support the next generation of creators who will push the boundaries of the medium.”
