Complete your Advising Orientation Requirement with BS in Games Advisors!
We look forward to meeting you! To meet the Orientation advising requirement, we will conduct live sessions for all first-year incoming students and have individual advising appointments with transfer students. Please read below for instructions on when to sign-up and next steps.
Should I sign-up for a live session or advising appointment now?
Please sign up for a session (First-Year Students) or schedule an appointment (Transfer Students) after you have completed the University Orientation (the online Canvas modules).
What do I need to complete before attending a live session or advising appointment?
1. Pay deposit to University of Utah
2. Register for University of Utah Orientation
3. Complete University Online Orientation through Canvas (You will receive a text notification when your hold has been lifted)
4. Attend virtual advising meeting. Information on this will be emailed to you the week of your orientation
5. Register for classes!
What if I have questions for my advisor now and I’m going to be a first-year student?
We ask that you please wait to reach out to your advisor until after completing the live session. We will be covering A LOT of information during the live session that will be very valuable and will address many of your initial questions. After the live session, you will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment for a later date.

Incoming First-Year Students Only
You will receive the zoom link via email the week of your orientation. In this session, we will discuss the BS in Games curriculum and classes you should register for in your first semester. We will address most questions via the Chat function in Zoom. If you leave the session feeling as though you still have questions, you can schedule a one-on-one advising appointment.
